Futuro Spatial extends more than fifteen years of experience creating and realizing large-scale artworks into a structured system for owning, transferring, preserving, and realizing Rights to Build.
Origins
Founded in 2009, Binary Fields LLC has worked in the creation, fabrication, and project management of large-scale artworks, with a particular focus on public art. Its projects have involved direct collaboration with fabrication houses, engineers, attorneys, public agencies, municipalities, installers, and other specialized partners.
The company’s work has received awards for design and for the integration of artworks into civic environments, along with recognition from clients and members of the public-art field.
The platform
Futuro Spatial grows out of practical experience bringing ambitious artworks from concept through fabrication and installation while coordinating the people, records, technical decisions, and acceptance requirements involved along the way.
The platform translates that experience into an authenticated registry and marketplace for Rights to Build. It allows an artist to define a work for future realization, permits ownership of that right to be recorded and transferred, and preserves the information required to determine whether a later realization remains faithful.
Leadership and operation
Futuro Spatial was founded by artist Osman Akan and is currently operated by Binary Fields LLC. The platform is informed by Akan’s experience designing and producing large permanent public artworks and by the multidisciplinary collaborations required to realize them.
